Anastasia Korableva/Why is bodybuilding a sport of genetics?

Hello here guys :heart_hands:

Any sport is not only about discipline and a huge amount of work, it is also about genetics, so I am genuinely surprised when people come to the gym and showing the form of professional athletes, say that they want the same, but without discipline and a huge amount of work, and at the same time they can only train three times a week and don’t always manage to keep track of their diet😅

And here you need to understand that a huge number of people who invest time and soul into bodybuilding, doing it with 100% discipline, doing it for years, using all the necessary pharmacology, will never look like the top Olympia competitors.

Why? Because genetics are very important here: what receptors you have and how they react to pharmacology, how your gastrointestinal tract works, what kind of skeleton you have, what shape and structure your muscles have, how strong your joints and ligaments are, and so on.

For some reason, no one asks how they can quickly start running as fast as Usain Bolt, because it’s simply impossible to do, and everyone understands perfectly well that he is a genetic freak.

So when you look at top bodybuilders, they are also genetic freaks. Any sport is a sport of genetics, so when someone shows off some professional physique and says, “I want to be like that,” it’s great and good motivation, but you need to clearly understand that you’ll have to spend 10 years on it first, and in the end, there’s a 99% chance you won’t get what you expected.
